Blue Devil Head Gasket Sealer update after 2k miles. Does it still work? These are our previous stories and an update on where we are today. We have now hit 2000 miles with Blue Devil Head Gasket Sealer working in the coolant system of my 1999 Jeep Cherokee XJ. We have seen all of the issues from the Heating and Cooling Thread resolved. The power has returned, the heat is hotter than ever before and there are zero leaks. We also replaced the entire heating and cooling system except for the heater core.
Things done so far.
Radiator hose Jan, Oil Pressure switch, Spark plugs air Filter FEB 2021 Water Pump March Blower motor resistor march March 29th Wheel Hub Heater Core Inlet Hose and U Joint, Windshield Washer Pump June 2021 April Wheel Hub #2 Dust Shields.
The heat didn’t work at all basically during the cold winter months, but my Jeep atleast ran well and can travel up to 50 or more miles one way without issue. Check out that post below and also https://gainzmedia.com/JeepXJ will now be home to all my Jeep Cherokee XJ related posts.
How do you find out if your Head Gasket is Blown?
Find out if my head gasket is blocked I have never done this before but there is a chemical dye test to check for combustion gases inside of the cooling system. So if you find out that you have Blown your head gasket, Keep driving with a blown head gasket and it will inevitably lead to further car trouble.
Coolant leaking externally from below the exhaust manifold.
White smoke from the exhaust pipe.
Bubbles in the radiator or coolant overflow tank.
Overheating engine.
White milky oil.
Fouled spark plugs.
Low cooling system integrity.
I only have the overheating and the bubble effect coming up through my radiator, my overflow bottle has more of a foam in it than bubble action. I also have zero white smoke coming out of the tail pipe, the thing about it is that I have seem smoke/steam from the left of the engine.
Truthfully I think I’m going to have to suck it up replace the head gasket and freeze plug with the block is off, clean the engine internally and then put it all back together with the trans cooler.
But in the mean time…. I’m trying this out so I can atleast drive around and band aid the issue so to speak. Bar’s Head Gasket and Block Sealer I also just did a coolant system burping and also a complete oil change and added in Bars Oil Treatment for the motor.
