Can the Detroit Lions defeat the Baltimore Ravens on Monday Night Football? The 1-1 Detroit Lions are coming off a landslide victory against Chicago Bears. The Packers who looked unbeatable in week 1 lost yesterday to the Cleveland Browns. Thanks to Cleveland finally showing up for a game, the low scoring battle made for a great throwback to 1950s NFL action. When the Lions played Green bay to open the season they looked lifeless. The injury to the serviceable Defensive End Marcus Davenport means there will be added pressure on Aiden Hutchinson. Hutchinson, himself has just returned from a brutal 2024 leg injury.
There will be pressure on Jahmyr Gibbs and David Montgomery to run the ball to control the game clock and keep the ball out of Lamar Jackson’s hands. The Lions last week had a rebirth against the bears and returned to normal form. Jared Goff threw 5 Touchdowns after throwing only 1 in week number 1. The running game was lead by 94 yards from Gibbs, who will to repeat this effort against The Ravens. Goff will need to be comfortable in the pocket to make as great of a passing performance as last week.
In the history of The Ravens vs Lions, it has always seemed that no matter what Baltimore has found a way to come out on top. Now hopefully the Lions can take it Baltimore and make a signature Win happen. Dan Campbell and his new Coordinators will look on the past losses to find a way to stop Lamar Jackson. We can only hope that the 2025 Detroit Lions defense can contain a mobile QB for the first time ever. My prediction is Lions 21 Baltimore 17
