snoop dogg

There will be NFL football on Christmas Day for the sixth straight season and the late-afternoon game this year will see rap legend Snoop Dogg perform during halftime, Netflix announced on Tuesday. No Detroit Lions game would be complete if somehow Eminem doesn’t show up. With Snoop performing this is a high probability.

“Snoop’s Holiday Halftime Party” will take place on Dec. 25 following the second quarter of the Detroit Lions-Minnesota Vikings game at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minnesota.

The game will be the second of a Netflix doubleheader, which will begin at 1 p.m. ET when the Washington Commanders host the Dallas Cowboys. The third game of the day — Denver at Kansas City — will stream on Amazon Prime.

This is the second straight year that Netflix will broadcast an NFL doubleheader on Christmas that features a halftime show during one of the games. Last season, the Baltimore Ravens and Houston Texans met with Beyoncé handling halftime show duties at NRG Stadium.

“American Idol” winner Kelly Clarkson will open the NFL on Christmas Day with a performance of her holiday song “Underneath the Tree.”

Also, in case you’re 90 years old and never have heard about him.. Snoop Dogg is a rapper. Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr. (/ˈbroʊdɪs/ BROH-dis; born October 20, 1971), known professionally as Snoop Dogg (previously Snoop Doggy Dogg),[note 1] is an American rapper, singer, record producer, and actor. Rooted in West Coast hip-hop, he is widely regarded as one of the greatest and most influential rappers of all time. Known for his signature drawled lyrics—which often use melodic rhyming, repetition, word play, laconic phrases, syncopation and alliteration—his music often addresses the lifestyle and culture of the West Coast and social issues such as gun violence and stability for the youth.[His initial fame dates back to 1992 following his guest appearance on Dr. Dre’s debut solo single, “Deep Cover”, and later on Dre’s debut album, The Chronic, that same year, including “Nuthin’ but a ‘G’ Thang”. Snoop Dogg has since sold over 23 million albums in the United States, and 35 million albums worldwide.[His accolades include an American Music Award, a Primetime Emmy Award, two Sports Emmy Awards, and seventeen Grammy Award nominations.

Produced entirely by Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg’s debut studio album, Doggystyle (1993) was released by Death Row Records and debuted atop the Billboard 200. Selling 806,000 copies in its first week, the album received quadruple platinum certification by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) the following year and spawned the Billboard Hot 100-top ten singles “What’s My Name?” and “Gin and Juice”. He was the lead performer on Death Row’s soundtrack album for the 1994 short film Murder Was the Case, wherein Snoop Dogg made his acting debut. He has since appeared in other films and popular media. His second album, Tha Doggfather (1996), also debuted atop the Billboard 200 and received double platinum certification.
