First and foremost, I never thought that I would reach the point with this website where I would start posting about WWE. However, I watch so much of it and have such a passion for it that I decided it would help add to the GainzMedia experience.
WWE delivered a strong card for John Cena’s final match, with one hell of a finish in the main event. If you actually pay attention to NXT which I do not. I use to love AEW when it first came out, so my secondary Wrestling entertainment goes to there or some TNA. I find NXT hard to get into for some reason. I was lost with most of the NXT people coming on to face Cody or Bayley. It was entertaining but it would have been better if there was more story building going on.

Everything about this show, and a whole lot about the past year, has been focused on John Cena retiring from professional wrestling. They really pushed hard on the idea that he is well and truly done after this and will simply slide right into his new role as an ambassador while focusing on outside projects, like his successful acting career.
There’s plenty of criticism to go around regarding how exactly they handled his final run. He wanted to do something like 200 dates, and they only wanted him for 36. They didn’t have a cohesive story for the year, instead allowing fan reaction to dictate some matchups while also massively screwing up the one time he would actually turn heel (before rightfully reverting him back to his tried-and-true babyface character). Even the way they got to his final match, by booking a tournament and selling it on surprise entrants from people who don’t actually work for WWE, kind of sucked.
